Explore the settlements and villages throughout the Abaco Island Chain. Sail to picturesque harbours and quite anchorages all within the protection of the Sea of Abaco. The quaint fishing villages offer some of the finest seafood you will find in all of the Bahamas. Enjoy the fantastic snorkeling out on the reefs or do a little sightseeing at Hope Town, it’s all within reach in the Abacos. Best of all no crowds, you can always find a place all to yourself. From Walkers Cay to Little Harbor there are many places to drop your anchor or tie up to. Below is just a suggested itinerary. hope townDay 1 – Depart Marsh Harbour and sail into Hope Town Harbour. You must stay on a mooring ball or at a marina since it is not permitted to anchor in the harbour. Spend some time walking around Hope Town. This village is as if time stood still.



Day 2 – Depart Hope Town and sail to Great Guana Cay. The anchorage behind the settlement is nice with a NNE through SSE wind. If the wind is out of the west there is a fine dock at Guana Cay Resort.

Day 3 – Depart Guana Cay and sail out into the open ocean through Loggerhead Channel past Whale Cay and back in to protected waters through Whale Cay Channel. This brings you to Green Turtle Cay. Anchor off of the cement dock at the NW end of New Plymouth settlement. If draft permits you can get into Black Sound and/or White Sound. New Plymouth is a very quaint and colorful town. Make sure you stop in and eat at Laura’s Kitchen!

Day 4 – Sail from Green Turtle to Treasure Cay. You will have to go back out to the open ocean through Whale Cay Channel since there is very little water on the inside to get from here to there. Once in Treasure Cay there is a wonderful marina with all the amenities.

Day 5 – Get up early and sail back up to Elbow Cay and go into White Sound Harbour. Best to go in on a mid to high tide. You can anchor out or go into the Sea Spray Marina or the Abaco Inn Marina. Spend some time at the beach and don’t forget to do the limbo at the Sea Spray.

Day 6 – Depart Elbow Cay and sail south around Tilloo Bank and anchor west of Sandy Cay. Take some time to explore Pelican Cay Land and Sea Park. There are some nice coral formations just east of Sandy Cay but do not anchor on the coral heads. It is best to use the dinghy to explore the park.

Day 7 – Depart the park and sail back up to Hope Town. Enjoy the ambiance on your last evening.

Day 8 – Sail back to Marsh Harbour clean up the boat and depart by 12:00 Noon
